Podback, the first UK-wide coffee pod recycling scheme, today announces the appointment of Diana Caldwell as Head of Marketing and Communications.
Set up by the two biggest players in the UK coffee industry, Nestlé and Jacobs Douwe Egberts UK, Podback provides simpler ways for people to recycle their coffee pods. Diana will be responsible for developing and implementing the scheme’s marketing and communications strategy. She will work closely with Podback’s Executive Director, Rick Hindley.
Podback went live across the UK in April 2021, offering a nationwide Collect+ delivered by Yodel drop-off service to customers1 and is working with local authorities to offer kerbside collections2.
Diana will focus on driving even further growth for the scheme, increasing public awareness around coffee pod recycling, and supporting with bringing on-board new members and local authority partners.

Diana has extensive experience in the recycling and waste management sectors, having previously worked at Alupro (The Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation) and at Novelis UK, the world’s leading recycler of aluminium.
